Sweating is an important bodily function which helps us to regulate our body temperature. Unfortunately, in our society, excessive sweating is often seen as a sign of poor hygiene by those who don't understand how hyperhidrosis can affect different people in different ways... Believe me, I have a very good hygiene regime and I sweat in all kinds of situations, even the non-stressful ones.

Excessive sweating can affect absolutely anybody for a variety of reasons. It usually starts during adolescence although it can begin at any point in your life.

There are two types of hyperhidrosis - Primary and Secondary. Primary hyperhidrosis is when sweating occurs for no particular reason, Secondary is when there's  something possibly more sinister behind it. We would always recommend consulting your family doctor at your earliest convenience to rule out any possibility of seroius illness.

Sweating can also be a symptom of hormonal changes like menopause or as a side-effect from medication.
